The Japan-America Society of Washington DC is an organization founded to create and promote programming to bring Japan to the area. We have two kinds of programs: our signature programs, which are of national significance, and our ongoing programs.

The Japan-America Society of Washington DC presents a number of signature programs throughout the year.

Our signature programs are those of national significance.

  • Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival
  • Japan Bowl®
  • CineMatsuri™
  • Annual Dinner
  • Japan in the Year

We also host many other programs throughout the year, which we organize on our own, or in cooperation with other organizations in the Washington DC area. These include:

  • Cultural and Performing Arts Programs
  • Corporate Programs that focus on developments and speakers of interest to business
  • Public Affairs Programs about contemporary issues in Japan and US-Japan relations
  • Social and Networking gatherings, where our Japanese and American members get to know each other better
