Japan in 2018: A Look at the Year Ahead

Presented by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC
in cooperation with
Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
Keizai Koho Center
National Association of Japan-America Societies

Thursday, January 18, 2018
9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

1179 Massachusetts Ave, NW Washington, DC 20036

In 2013, thanks to a grant from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the Society fulfilled a long-standing dream. It created a new, major signature program called Japan in the Year that brings together over 100 Japan experts from Japan and US governments, academia, the think tanks, and the non-profit sector for a one-day look at the year ahead for Japan and US-Japan relations, both domestically and internationally. The symposium is noted for its broad-ranging coverage of national security, political, economic, and social issues.

Now in its fifth year, the 2018 symposium is supported by the Keizai Koho Center (the Japan Institute for Social and Economic Affairs). We are delighted to welcome Hiroyuki Tsurugi of Mitsui & Co. as the special guest.
