WASHINGTON, D.C. – Now that spring is lapsing into summer and another year of cherry blossoms have gone by, it’s time to look back at the achievements of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC’s biggest events of the past season.

As always, the Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival, the National Japan Bowl, and CineMatsuri attracted many people from all over the country looking to connect – or reconnect – with Japan and its culture. In total, JASWDC welcomed over 30,000 people to its events.

Whether you attended the colorful 58th annual Sakura Matsuri on that warm Saturday, watched the nerve-wracking championship rounds of the 26th National Japan Bowl, or caught a movie on a weekday night during the fifth CineMatsuri, we sincerely hope you were able to find your slice of Japan in Washington, DC with our help. Be sure to keep in touch with us and our programs all year long.
